Scream Section & Emotional Release
The "Scream Section" feature is designed for emotional release and catharsis. It is NOT an emergency service or crisis intervention tool.
What It Is
A safe space to express frustration, anger, or stress in writing.
A text-based feature: you type or paste what you need to get out, and submissions pass through automated content moderation before being stored or shown anywhere.
Encourages healthy emotional expression and is rate-limited to one submission per minute per user to discourage spam.
What It Is NOT
Not a replacement for professional crisis counseling

Key Points
GDPR / CCPA / COPPA processes: we follow the verifiable-consent, deletion, and opt-out workflows required by these laws (see our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page).
Encryption: traffic in transit uses TLS. Direct messages and circle (group chat) messages are end-to-end encrypted on your device. Server-side stored data lives in Google Cloud Firestore (encrypted at rest by GCP, AES-256 by default); journal entry contents may additionally be encrypted at the application layer using AES-256-GCM with a server-managed key.
Storage location: most personal data (account info, journals, mood logs, conversations) is stored on our cloud infrastructure (Firebase / Firestore) so it syncs across your devices. Some E2E content (such as device-bound cryptographic keys for messaging) stays only on your device.
No Third-Party Sales: we do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (see Do Not Sell or Share).
User Control: you can access, export, or schedule deletion of your data at any time from the mobile app or via the website.

Maximum Liability: In no event shall our total liability exceed $100 USD or the amount you paid for the app (whichever is greater).
Firebase: Account info, journal entries, mood logs, conversations (encrypted at rest, see Privacy Policy for full retention details), crash logs.
OpenAI: Chat messages you send to your Donny companion are forwarded verbatim for inference; we don't attach your account ID. OpenAI may retain prompts briefly per their data policy (zero-data-retention may apply depending on our org-level configuration — see AI_DISCLOSURES.md).
Analytics: Device type, OS version, feature usage (only with your consent).
